Using the Poseidon phone app
Sign in, clock in and out, do inspections, and keep working without signal.
Who this is for
Field crews and inspectors.
Before you start
- Your Poseidon account: accept your admin's email invitation, or sign up with your company code and wait for approval.
- The Poseidon app on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Location turned on for Poseidon. It confirms you're at the job site or the shop when you clock in, and is used only while you're clocked in.
Steps
Get around
Open the app and sign in with your email and password, or with Google or Microsoft (Apple on iPhone).
The tabs along the bottom are Home (your clock and today's activity), Operations (your installation jobs, inspections, dispatches and emergencies), Notifications, Messages and More (Timesheets, Work Orders, Safety Meetings, Time Off, Expenses, Locations and Settings).
Clock in and out
On Home, tap Clock In. At your company's shop you're clocked in straight away. Anywhere else, choose On Route or On Site and pick the job.
Heading to a job? Tap Start Route and choose it. When you get there, tap Arrive on Site. You must be within 1 mile of the site.
Answer the On-Site Questions: hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, steel-toed boots, and a photo of yourself. You can't clock in on site without all your equipment.
Tap Take Break and Resume Shift for breaks, and Leave Site when you leave a site.
At the end of the day, tap Clock Out. Poseidon asks whether you got injured on the job and whether the job is finished.
Do an inspection
Open Operations, tap the inspection and tap Start Inspection.
Work through Verify Information, Initial Procedures, General Questions and Systems Inspection, then check your answers on Review Summary.
Add any parts to order (or skip), collect the Inspector Signature and Client Signature, and tap Submit.
What happens next
- No signal? A No internet connection bar shows how many changes are waiting. Keep working: they sync when you're back online.
- Clock In, Take Break, Leave Site and Clock Out work without signal. Poseidon saves the time you tapped and sends it later. Start Route and Arrive on Site need a connection.
- Inspections assigned to you are copied to your phone whenever it has signal, so you can open them, fill them in, take photos and submit them without signal. They are sent when you're back online.
- Send your hours for approval from More → Timesheets.
Common questions
- Why can't I clock in on site?
- Location must be turned on for Poseidon, you must be within 1 mile of the job site, and you must answer Yes to every safety equipment question.
- I forgot my password.
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email and tap Send reset link.
- I don't have an account yet.
- Ask your company admin for an invitation or your company code. Create an account on the sign-in screen opens the sign-up page.
